Summer is finally here in AZ, and I don’t know about you guys, but even though it’s nice here most of the time, I feel like a little kid again as summer approaches. As someone who isn’t thrilled with this 9-5 life, I’ll take any excuse I can get to avoid work. So, while I sit here at my desk, waiting to deliver some documents to a Maryland employment lawyer, I thought I’d come on here and tell you guys about our trip to Ocean City last summer. We haven’t yet decided what we’re doing this summer, but it’ll be hard to top last summer.
Jude’s dad is a wealthy guy, that’s how we’re able to fly around the country every weekend, so as a graduation gift to Jude, he covered all of our expenses for the summer and sent us down to Ocean City. He booked us a suite from Memorial Day to Labor Day at the Hilton Ocean City Oceanfront Suites. We all had our own rooms, and the suite itself over-looked the ocean. Talk about a view!
The hotel had plenty of stuff going on, including an infinity pool, our own cabana, a bar downstairs, and all the room service you could ever want! It wasn’t an adrenaline rush experience like we are used to; it was almost like we were taking a break from the excitement, ya know?
The pier had a ferris wheel and some other fun rides including a giant slide we would visit whenever our girlfriends came to visit on the weekends, and we’d go out to Seacrets Jamaica at night for some dancing, beers, and music.
It seems like we were always doing something that summer. Whether we were visiting the Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum, fishing, playing beach volleyball, barbecuing, lighting off fireworks, playing Spanish 21 at the casino, or heading out for the day on Jude’s dad’s yacht, we literally just did whatever we wanted and lived the high life all summer long.
Part of the reason we can’t figure out what to do this summer is because we won’t have all of our expenses covered by Jude’s dad this summer, since he just opened up a luxury hotel in Italy. Hey! Now there’s an idea for how we can spend our summer . . . now that I think about it, he has a couple of hotels in the Bahamas, too. Now that’s a summer vacation I’d be down for!
